How to reach Brijuni The islands are situated 7 kilometers from Pula – the closest road, rail, air and maritime center - and 240 km from Zagreb [the capital of Croatia]. Veli Brijun is separated from the mainland by the 3 km wide Fazana Channel. Fazana is the terminal for connections by boat (15 minute ride) following the enclosed schedule. Upon request Summit participants may take advantage of Brijuni National park guarded parking area at Fazana.
Accommodation We have secured one-stop-shop accommodation booking for the Summit participants, courtesy of Adriatica.net. Accommodation will be available on the "first come – first served" basis. Adriatica.net offers to Summit participants transfer service from hotel to boat terminal, as well as car rental services.
Venue The Summit proceedings will take place at Castrum Conference Room, Hotel Neptun/Istra, Veli Brijun.
Connectivity & Equipment The hotel and its surrounding will be covered by free wireless broadband Internet access for the duration of WSA Grand Jury / eContent Summit. Summit Office will also have at its disposal black-and-white laser printers.
Dress Code Google dress code – come as it suits you best, provided it is not offensive to others.
Medical service Hotel Neptun/Istra has a small medical dispensary providing medical care for hotel guests. In Fazana [5 minutes by speedboat, 15 minutes by boat] there is a first aid clinic and pharmacy, and the nearest hospital is in Pula. Foreign tourists do not pay for medical services if the Health Care Convention was signed between Croatia and the country they come from. Expenses of health services provided to persons coming from the countries with which the Health Care Convention was not signed are charged directly to users according to the price list. For patients whose lives are in danger, there is emergency transport by air (helicopter) or sea (speedboat).
Environmental protection Brijuni archipelago is a unique and protected nature park. The development orientation of Brijuni National Park aims at economically sustainable development based on viable tourism, hotel management and traditional agriculture founded on environmentally acceptable technologies, with the purpose of its permanent preservation for future generations. Guests are expected to be environmentally aware and sensitive to every unnatural method of affecting nature. In case of an accident or contamination of the sea, please contact the National Centre for Sea Search and Rescue on the number 9155 (free telephone).
Fire prevention Ensure that you have done everything to prevent a fire. Do not throw lit or flammable objects into the environment. If you see a fire, please inform others in your proximity; report it immediately on the telephone number 93; try to extinguish the fire till the fire-fighters arrive and in such a manner so as not to endanger yourself or others. Take notice of signs forbidding the lighting of fires. Take care that your parked vehicle does not obstruct accesses to the fire or roads.
